It is situated at Dakaita, in Godda district of Jharkhand, INDIA and was established in 1974 for the care of Santhal tribal population of this area. Since then sisters are engaged in various health activities in and around this area, such as anti-natal care, deliveries, post-natal care, caring for the children, adolescents and geriatrics. Initially it was 40 bedded hospital where 25 beds were kept aside for TB patients as TB sanitarium and 15 beds for general patients. Dr Sr. Mary Laly C.T.C has joined the institution in 2014 after completing her MBBS, MD (General Medicine) and certificate course in ultrasonography & echocardiogram from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore which was a long-cherished desire of the congregation and mission province at Bihar & Jharkhand to extend quality health service to the under privileged and needy tribal people of the area. Since then the hospital is blessed with doctor for 7x24 hours, slowly the hospital was upgraded with basic investigation facilities like laboratory services, X ray, ECG, Ultrasound. A New OPD and inpatient block was made. Later 10 bedded ICU and operation theatre was set for the better service of the people of this area. Hospital conducts health education camps and mobile clinics to remote villages and schools to avail the medical facilities. Special attention is given to adolescents’ health in our schools and girls homes by our medical sisters. Palliative care home visits are done regularly by our team.
Our Health centre also has taken keen interest in training the tribal girls in medical care as we conduct Diploma in Patient Care and Diploma in Medical Laboratory under BSS (Bharat Sevek Samaj). This year we are opening a GNM nursing school for them.
